Completing an entry permit

  1. Open Specialty SafetyConfined Space Entry
  2. Open the event for your work location
  3. The CSE Coordinator completes the assessment:
    • Confirm the space is classified as a confined space
    • Record atmospheric readings (O₂ %, LEL %, H₂S ppm)
    • Document hazards and controls in place
    • Select the type of work activity
  4. The system auto-classifies the entry type:
    • No CSE — not a confined space
    • Restricted CSE — limited hazards, entry permitted with controls
    • Confined CSE — significant hazards, full permit required
  5. Assign entrant, attendant, and rescue personnel
  6. Attach the rescue plan
  7. Authorize the permit

During entry

  • The attendant maintains continuous communication with entrants
  • Atmospheric readings can be logged at intervals
  • The permit remains Open until all entrants have exited

Closing a permit

  1. All entrants exit and are accounted for
  2. The CSE Coordinator closes the permit
  3. The closed permit is archived with all records intact
