Offline Mode

OneSiteKit includes Offline Mode that allows the app to continue working when internet connectivity is unavailable or unreliable — common on remote worksites.

Enabling Offline Mode

Offline Mode is enabled per organization by an administrator:

  1. Go to OrganizationSettings
  2. Toggle Offline Mode on
  3. All devices in the org will begin syncing data in the background while online

Status indicator

When Offline Mode is enabled, a Work Offline pill appears in the top bar showing the current state:

StateMeaning
ReadyOffline-capable and connected — data is current
ActiveNo internet — app is running from cached data
Syncing DBDownloading offline asset data in the background
Syncing MapDownloading map tiles in the background

On mobile, a floating badge with a crossed-out Wi-Fi icon appears when the connection drops.

What's available offline

The following screens work while offline:

FeatureAvailable offline
RadiosScan by serial number, view status and assignment
WellsScan, view status, submit well checks
Well PumpsScan, view status, submit pump checks
SumpsScan, view status, submit sump checks
ToolsScan, view status
Remote LocksScan, view barcode
DocumentsView pre-cached files
MapView pre-cached tiles (when Map Portal access is enabled)

Screens not in the list above display "Not available while working offline" and become accessible again once connectivity is restored.

Offline submissions

Well checks and sump checks submitted while offline are held in a local queue. When connectivity is restored, the queue drains automatically and the checks are submitted to the server in the order they were recorded.

The Work Offline pill briefly shows Active while draining, then returns to Ready once all queued records are uploaded.

Limitations

  • Data shown while offline reflects your last sync — recent changes from other users may not be visible
  • Only well checks and sump checks can be submitted offline — sign-outs and other actions require a live connection
  • Map tiles must be pre-cached while online before they are available offline; look for the pill to reach Ready before heading to site

TIP

Install OneSiteKit as a PWA (Add to Home Screen / Install App) for the best offline experience. Browser tabs have more restricted caching behaviour than installed PWAs.
