Dewatering

The Dewatering tile supports sump and pump monitoring across your site — tracking check history, pump assignments, and overdue alerts.

What you can monitor

  • Sumps — active water collection points across pit or excavation areas
  • Pumps — assigned to sumps, with status tracking (Running / Standby / Down)
  • Water destinations — where discharge water is being directed

Logging a sump check

  1. Open the Dewatering tile from the portal
  2. View all sumps for your site — overdue checks are flagged in red
  3. Select a sump to open it
  4. Submit a sump check:
    • Sump operating status
    • For each running pump with a flow meter: individual flow rate and unit
    • Water destination
    • Notes (e.g. "pump cycling frequently")
  5. Submit — the check is timestamped and stored

Per-pump flow readings

When a sump has multiple pumps running, each pump flagged as having a flow meter gets its own flow reading. Flow readings are required for all running flow-meter pumps before a check can be submitted. Readings can be entered in litres (L) or cubic metres (m³) — the system normalises to litres for reporting.

Overdue alerts

Sumps that haven't been checked within the configured interval are flagged as overdue. The Dewatering tile shows a badge count for overdue checks. Email notifications can be sent to configured subscribers.

Viewing check history

Select any sump to view its full check history — timestamps, flow readings per pump, pump status, water destinations, and notes.

Pumps

Each pump has:

  • Pump ID — system-generated identifier (e.g. PUMP-001)
  • Pump Number — optional physical tag number (e.g. PMP-A04), set by an admin
  • Has Flow Meter — whether the pump is equipped with a flow meter; drives flow reading requirements during checks
  • Status — Running, Standby, or Down
  • Alert threshold — overdue interval in hours

Admin view

Admins manage dewatering infrastructure from the Dewatering admin panel:

  • Add, edit, and import sumps and pumps (CSV bulk import supported)
  • Assign pumps to sumps
  • Configure check frequency per sump
  • Set up alert notification subscribers
  • Export check data for reporting
  • View the full site map with UTM coordinates

Pump display mode

Admins can set how pumps are identified across the portal — by Pump ID or Pump Number. This setting applies to the pump table, sump check forms, and all dropdowns. If a pump has no Pump Number set, it falls back to Pump ID regardless of the setting. The setting is per-device.

Bulk import (CSV)

Pumps can be imported in bulk via CSV. Download the template from the Import dialog. Supported columns:
